Victor Gagnon

Vic is a classically trained musician raised in the Albany, NY area. He began playing the fiddle at the age of 10, when he began studying under a member of the Albany Symphony. He has performed with youth orchestras and participated in the "Dynamic Duo" workshop presented by the Albany Symphony and Derek Bermel (Prix DE Rome winning composer).
After composing many of his own compositions, Vic studied under Mark O'Connor (world-renowned fiddler) with Natalie MacMaster in Nashville, Tennessee. This inspired Vic to fuse his classical training with his love of Celtic music. After studying it's style in Cape Breton, with the regions best, Vic returned to NY to find himself performing frequently on stage, radio and television.
Through his many experiences at an early age, Vic has combined classical, country western, Cajun, Cape Breton, traditional Irish and the American styles of playing and has made them his own. His eclectic style adds an exciting new dimension to the band. Vic, the newest member of the group, met up with the Kelly brothers in 2003 and the band hasn't looked back since.
